A wonderful Mix of cultures as Korean Groom and Russian bride get married
This was a wedding with a difference and I got to photograph it at one of my favourite wedding Venues. The Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London’s South Kensington’s is a lovely venue to get married in; especially in the massive glass conservatory which is just magical with fairy lights and palm trees.
When Larissa and Myong first got touch with me to discuss wedding photography I knew that I wanted to be the one to photograph it. And I am so glad that I got to.
This was a great mix of both Korean and Russian traditions tied up in one wedding ceremony.
The conservatory is great for Natural light and so makes for flawless wedding photos, plus the streets around the hotel are just filled with rows upon rows of red brick houses and tress, making it a great backdrop for their couple photos.
Larissa and Myong have been together for many years and I was super impressed to hear Larissa speak fluent Korean (not her mother tongue). She also embraced traditions by wearing a beautiful red and gold Wedding dress for the Wedding reception, whilst for the Wedding ceremony she looked stunning in her Mothers wedding dress and pearl tiara.
Myong also embraced Russian traditions by drinking vodka out of the brides shoe… hhhm yummy 😉
It was a truly wonderful wedding day and one which I will never forget.
Here are a few words from Larissa and Myong following the wedding. . “I just wanted to share that Sonya is amazing! I had never been to a wedding in UK before and I was the first of all my friends to get married and I honestly had no idea what I was doing, how a wedding in UK looks, what to keep in mind and so on. On top of that there were delays and issues and all the usual stuff that makes up the hectic morning…. And then Sonya came and she was the only one who knew what she was doing and it was absolutely wonderful when she came in took charge and made the day absolutely perfect! Thanks Sonya I don’t know what I would have done without you 🙂 can’t say enough good things”
